Polydextrose is a synthetic sugar fiber, it is less than ten percent the sweetness of sugar. Polydextrose is used to reduce the sugar in a formula by replacing the bulk and texture of sugar, usually in conjunction with a high-intensity sweetener. It also provides additional fiber content.
